conTEMPORARY -xxx- Gallery

Currently there are no exhibitions in the gallery due to construction.

Last Exhibition:
Exhibition No. 49 – E

Practice for an initial “E”, this was for my Christmas project in 2020.

April 2022

Previous exhibitions:

Exhibition No. 48 – Morning practice series

Morning practice in Italics, series of three (photo of no. 1 is missing, sorry). March/April 2022

Exhibition No. 47 – homines

Good news: we’re back with exhibitions!
The construction is still going on, but we wanted to  seize the moment of the first sunny days in Berlin and started with a new series of artworks. You will find us two inlets further to the right. The background motive is a postcard from R. Perzolla, I found it in Neukölln. The words are written in textura, it says: Homines quo plura habent, eo cupiunt ampliora (The more men have, the more they want). March 2022

Exhibition No. 46 – Under Construction

Since a few weeks the gallery has been under construction already. Sorry for the inconvenience, but everything will be more beautiful after all has been taken care of! The artwork of exhibition no. 44 is currently hidden behind some boards, therefore we have moved to a different display area, which is the wall right next to it. The most recent writing piece shows samples of italics and kurrent. Hope to see you soon. July 2021

Exhibition No. 45 – Gnade

CTG 45 Gnade Spencerian Textur

Exhibition No. 44 – Modern Italics

CTG 44 Modern Italics

Mostly Italics, invaded by some Bastarda. May 2021

Exhibition No. 43 – E

Left: Spencerian capital E written with a pointed nib. A random line below, obviously with a spelling mistake. Right: Full gallery. I have included this shot because someone left a prominent mark. Not sure what this is supposed to mean, also not sure yet how to deal with it – include in setup or ignore? Any suggestions, let me know. March 2021

Exhibition No. 40 – Effi Briest

CTG 40 Effi Briest

This is a quote from Fontanes Effi Briest, written with a pointed nib fountain pen on unsuitable paper.
Maybe you have spotted my new Manufraktur stickers on the right hand side? The first batch was produced badly (the contour is incised), but I figured it’s perfect for my gallery!

Exhibition No. 37, 38, 39 – Osmiroid Triology

These three exhibitions were called Osmiroid Triology because I bought a new set of antique calligraphy fountain pens (Osmiroid is the brands name) and these were some of the first sheets after I was unpackging them. Fun!

This is art, please leave it there. Thanks.
